Vedo Systems Launches Acevedo Poster Contest to Champion Software in Physics and Astronomy
At Vedo Systems, Outreach and Mentorship aren’t just values—they’re part of our mission to shape the future of space by investing in the next generation of innovators. In line with this vision, our founder and President, Amanda Acevedo, has partnered with the University of Iowa’s Department of Physics and Astronomy to launch the Acevedo Poster Contest.
This annual contest was created to recognize the critical role software plays in enabling research breakthroughs across physics and astronomy. It also aims to encourage students to develop software development skills that enhance their scientific training and better prepare them for industry careers.
The inaugural contest, held earlier this year, showcased a wave of impressive and creative student submissions. Congratulations to Jeff Leiberton and Sarah Choate, winners of the first-ever competition—we can’t wait to see where your talents take you.
Vedo Systems is proud to support this initiative and celebrate the rising stars of science and software.
