Choate, Leiberton Named Winners at Inaugural Acevedo Poster Contest

Outreach and Mentorship are core values at Vedo Systems. We believe that part of shaping the future of space is to help shape future generations of space industry innovators, explorers and influencers. To this end, our founder and President, Amanda Acevedo, has partnered with the University of Iowa Department of Physics and Astronomy to establish the “Acevedo Poster Contest”. This contest was established to highlight and recognize the significance of software development in enabling Physics and Astronomy research. The goals of this contest are two-fold:

  1. To bring focus to the software discipline in enabling great research, and

  2. To encourage students to grow their software development skills and build a powerful complement to their Physics/Astronomy degree for physics graduates entering industry.

The inaugural Acevedo Poster Contest was held earlier this year. We were thrilled to see these students' creative software solutions! A huge congratulations to Jeff Leiberton and Sarah Choate, winners of the inaugural contest. We look forward to seeing your progress in the future.
